DescriptionBEST SELLING RING CLIPS, SOLID 9CT GOLD - SOLID SILVER.WHITE GOLD and now also rolled/filled gold
PLEASE NOTE THESE CLIPS ARE ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX, AND THEY WILL EVENTUALLY NEED REPLACING.
Keep soap, lotions and other chemicals away from your ring. Remove your rings before bathing or swimming, especially in saltwater. OR YOU WILL CAUSE A CHEMICAL REACTION WHICH COULD CAUSE A GREEN FINGER AND DAMAGE YOUR RING CLIP, JUST TREAT YOUR RING CLIP CAREFULLY.
* IF YOU NEED A RING RESIZED QUICKLY, THEN LOOK NO FURTHER, QUICK AND SIMPLE WAY TO RESIZE FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME.
* WE SELL A HUGE RANGE OF SIZES AND STYLES TO SUIT ALL RINGS- SEE OUR OTHER LISTINGS FOR FURTHER STYLES
PLEASE NOTE I would always go for a larger size than your ring shank to ensure it fits easily. PLEASE GO 2 SIZES LARGER- SO if your ring shank measures 2mm, go 4mm. Always measure your ring shank using Jewellers calipers as these are the most accurate way.
Please also note a 2mm clip for example has 2 lugs either side, which attach to the ring, each lug will measure approx 1mm-1.3mm, as there are 2 of these, it is therefore called a 2mm clip, same applies to the other sizes.Alot of people measure the length of the ring clip, or each lug on their own, and assume they have been sent the wrong size, so just wanted to clarify this, all items are checked twice before sending, to avoid any inaccuracies.
Also please use jewellers pliers or soft nose pliers OR Tightly wrap a layer of masking tape around each side of the pliers to keep the metal jaws from scratching your ring or the ring guard.
I have sold thousands, and i have used one myself for many years, used and fitted correctly, these will be a godsend, just take your time with them, and use the correct tools.
PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST take off your ring or wear a waterproof glove or wear a sports ring guard which i also sell, whilst swimming, washing up, or especially using hand or face wash, soaps, aftershave etc. The hand santisiers like the ones in hospitals, etc are the worse for damaging these clips. All these activities will cause the gold to be stripped off within a few uses, so please be very careful.
Chlorine found in many swimming pools, and alot of household products, like hand santisiers etc reacts with gold and will cause a chemical reaction which will weaken the clip or removed the plating on the rolled/filled golds items. It is advised by jewellers to not wear gold jewellery while in chlorine water or using hand sanitizers for this reason.
You do have to be careful with these clips, as unlike a thick ring, they are only very thin, and have more surfaces so the chemicals in our everyday life, can really degrade them.
Used properly these clips will last much longer.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU MEASURE CORRECTLY, as if the ring clip purchased is too small for the ring, it will cause pressure on the clip, and weaken the metal of the clip. Also when attaching the clip to the ring, do not over work the clip, as this will also weaken the metal.
The 9ct gold clips are 9ct solid gold, NOT gold plated.
The 9ct white gold, are also solid gold, the 2mm, 3mm and 5mm are all rhodium plated, which gives it the silver in colour, that white gold has.
PLEASE NOTE THE 3.5MM white gold clips are not rhodium plated like the others so has a golder look to it.If you want a white gold clip, go for the 4mm white gold.
What is RHODIUM- Rhodium is a very precious metal that can cost ten times as much as gold or more
Rhodium is wonderful as a plating for jewellery/ rings etc because it is dazzlingly and white. It is the most reflective of all metals.
It is for this reason that expensive White gold jewellery, is often plated with Rhodium. It makes diamonds look bigger and bright as it shines like diamonds do. So most white gold jewelry today is rhodium plated. But the rhodium is only a plating and therefore it will wear off eventually and require replating.
The silver clips are solid silver, not silver plated.
The rolled/Filled Gold, are cheaper because these are composed of a solid layer of gold bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal.
Gold filled is not gold plated that is cheaper again. Gold filled wears just like solid gold and in the case of these ring guards they are 14k white or yellow gold filled. The gold is approximately 100 times thicker than gold plate. With normal wear and tear the gold will never tarnish, chip or wear off.
Full instructions OF HOW TO FIT THE RING CLIPS
1. Position your chosen ring clip on the inside bottom of your ring. Ensure that the two attaching tabs point down toward the bottom of your ring, as these will be wrapping around your ring shank.
2. Push the ring clip down against the inside of your ring with your finger to make it curve in the same shape as your ring. As you push, the two tabs will protrude outside your ring around the bottom of it.
3. Now while holding the ring guard in place with your index finger and thumb and carefully use some needle-nose pliers or tweezers to wrap the tabs around the bottom of your ring. Wrap the tabs around the ring as much as possible, to ensure a secure fit. Tighten the tabs with the pliers as much as you can to make them flush with the ring.
To adjust the ring size, pull up on the centre of the ring clip to make your ring smaller or push down on the centre of the ring clip to make your ring bigger.
These clips are easy to fit, all you need is a pair of needle nose pliers (or strong flat tweezers) so that you can bend the ring guard around the band.
DO NOT USE YOUR FINGERS TO BEND THEM, AS THIS CAN DAMAGE THE CLIP.
Also do not work the lugs too much, as this will weaken them.
I cannot accept returns for broken clips caused by fitting incorrectly, so please be very careful when fitting them.
